Service helps us build a stronger society.
A strong community helps us live happier, more fulfilling lives. They also allow us to play a small role in making the world a better place. I am a dedicated community volunteer and have spent years building a better neighbourhood, city, and province.
Here are the ways I’ve been involved:
1. Campaign to Unite Alberta
When Jason first announced his intention to run as leader of PC Alberta with a mandate to unite with the Wildrose, I jumped at the opportunity to contribute. I served as Jason’s riding captain during the UCP leadership race and sold memberships to help him be elected as leader. I volunteered during the Calgary-Lougheed by-election and brought my friends, neighbours, and family to door-knock for Jason.
2. VP Communications, PC Alberta
I was elected as Vice-President Communication for PC Alberta at the 2016 AGM. In light of the party’s defeat in the 2015 election, I believed new voices were needed and that the party had to regain the trust it lost from other conservatives and Albertans. I helped modernize the party’s communication and make significant progress in increasing our online and social media presence.
During my time on the Board of Directors, I fought to ensure Jason Kenney had a fair and open leadership race. In February 2016 rumours surfaced that Jason could be disqualified as a candidate. I was tired of back-room politics. In response, I challenged the validity of an upcoming meeting. I succeeded in having it ruled out of order and ensured members of the party would have the final say on the next leader of the party.
3. President, Calgary-Bow PC Association
After the PCs loss in 2015, I knew we had to roll-up our sleeves and get to work. At the June 2015 AGM, I was elected President of the Calgary-Bow PC Association for a 1yr mandate.
4. The Army
I spent several years living and working in Cyprus. As a dual citizen, I was required to complete six-months of compulsory military service. The experience gave me immense respect and admiration for our men and women in uniform who give so much to keep us safe.
5. Continued Service
