The results are in!
I am incredibly honoured and proud to have earned the privilege to represent you as the next UCP candidate in Calgary-Bow.
Thank you for your support and for placing your trust in me. Whether you voted for me or not, I want you to know that I will always be in your corner. With tonight’s vote, we have all taken an important step forward in renewing the Alberta Advantage.
I want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank my campaign team. They have been working diligently behind the scenes for almost an entire year and I am grateful for all they have done to make this campaign a success.
I also want to thank all those who volunteered and contributed to the campaign. You have given me your valuable time and I am grateful for all that you have done.
To all of you, the UCP members in Calgary-Bow, I want to especially thank you for placing your trust in me. I feel so fortunate to have met so many of you and I know that with your dedication and enthusiasm, we will undoubtedly win back Calgary-Bow in 2019!
We were all very fortunate in Calgary-Bow to have so many good people willing to put their names forward. I want to thank each of them for their commitment and hard work. I’m proud to be a member of the UCP with these candidates and their incredible teams of supporters.
Lastly, but certainly not least, I want to thank my wife Michelle. It was her love and support that kept me going when things were tough. I want to thank her for all the sacrifices she made as we started this journey and I will be forever grateful.
After the polls closed at 8:00 pm, Michelle and I headed home to put the little ones to bed. As I read their bedtime stories, I was again reminded, as I am every evening, about why the next few years are so critical. This is why I decided to run; to ensure that they and all future generations inherit a better province.
With the nomination now over, we must continue to press ahead. My commitment to all of you is to put the nomination behind us and to get to work right away. We cannot take anything for granted and tomorrow I will be out door-knocking again because we must work hard and earn every vote.
Over the coming weeks, I look forward to working closely with the Calgary-Bow UCP Board to develop our election strategy and I hope that you will join our efforts.
For now, thank you again and goodnight.
